Daloka— Traditional Sudanese Drum

The Daluka is a small goblet-shaped drum traditionally made from fired clay, with animal skin stretched across its opening. Used in Sufi ceremonies, wedding celebrations, and community gatherings across eastern and central Sudan. Its sound ranges from a deep bass tone to sharp slaps and finger-edge strikes. The plugin captures multiple playing positions and articulations, giving producers the full rhythmic vocabulary of this essential drum.

Using This Plugin

Quick Start Guide

01. Download & Extract

Download the .zip file and extract it. Keep the .nki file and its Samples folder together — do not separate them. Store in your Kontakt libraries folder.

02. Load in Kontakt

Open Kontakt (full version, v5 or later). Drag the .nki file into the Kontakt rack, or use the Files browser. If prompted about activation, choose Load in Demo Mode — the plugin works fully.

03. Play & Record

Use a MIDI keyboard, pad controller, or your DAW’s piano roll. Articulations and drum hits are mapped across the keyboard. Apply reverb, EQ, and compression in your DAW for the best mix result.
