Description

Annual herb. Stem semi-prostrate or procumbent, branches are ascending, brittle, green or purplish, and with long white hairs. Leaves are opposite, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, coarsely toothed, slightly succulent, with the midrib strongly prominent below. Flower heads are terminal, on long peduncles. The outer involucre bracts are foliaceous and green, whereas the inner ones are membranous and purplish. The ray flowers are few white. The disc flowers are numerous, with a 5-lobed yellow corolla. Fruits are achenes, dark brown to black, with densely white long-hairs, feathered, unequal bristles.
